2016 Term dates for Kyabirwa Primary School near Bujagali Falls, Jinja.

These are the official dates when school is in session but many children attend school during the holidays to try to ensure that they achieve the best exam results they can. These are the children in classes P5, P6 and P7.

So, even in the holidays volunteers can work with the children, work at the school in other ways and/or work in the community.

2016 Term Dates

22nd February 2016 - 13th May 2016

 6th June 2016 - 19th August 2016

                 12th September 2016 - 2nd December 2016

Weather for the Jinja area

Jinja is at an elevation of 3,800 feet which ameliorates the temperature, so it doesn't vary much throughout the year. This means that, despite being almost on the Equator, temperatures are not as high as you would expect. In fact they are very pleasant and generally between 22C and 32C. The weather is fine the vast majority of the time, but when it rains it's short and sharp - and very enjoyable for foreign visitors to see! Stair rods spring to mind!

Map showing the location of Kyabirwa Primary School

The school is near enough to Jinja town and Bujagali Falls/Lake on the Nile to provide recreational and shopping facilities but not so near that the beautiful, green, rural aspect of our environment is spoiled.
